Events DC has earned GBAC STAR™ facility accreditation for the Walter E. Washington Convention Center from the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC)®, a Division of ISSA, for its preeminent cleaning, disinfection and infection prevention strategies.
Thermal Scanning at Entrances
No contact, real-time multi-person thermal scanning throughout the Convention Center. Using the latest technology the Convention Center is able to measure body temperatures of individuals and groups of people entering the venue and use artificial intelligence to factor in environmental effects on individuals.
Enhanced Sanitation Practices
The Aramark Environmental Services team’s commitment to aggressive cleaning and hygiene has led them to implement the Aramark EverSafe™ sanitation, disinfection and hygiene program, an integrated and enhanced cleaning, sanitation and disinfection program.
In partnership with SurfaceGuard, the high-grade COVID-19 remediation and health and safety reporting system has been deployed at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center as part of their venues’ health and safety reopening efforts.
HVAC Operations Higher than Standards
Air handlers installed with microbial reduction technology which safely and effectively breaks down pathogens such as bacteria, mold, and viruses. Other protocols include doubling the frequency of replacing filters throughout HVAC systems, increased frequency of monitoring and treating the water in HVAC systems to exceed public health hygiene standards and elevators outfitted with Sharp Plasmacluster® technology which cleanses the air.
Personal Preference Options
Reusable masks will be available throughout the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Attendees can also pick up a bracelet in stoplight coloring to show their comfort level with physical distancing and interaction. Signage will also promote social distancing at all times.
